Palmolive - Aquarium - Liquid Hand Soap

When PB told me that the soap dispenser in the bathroom was broken, I knew exactly what I wanted as a replacement.
I wanted the fish soap.
I've wanted the fish soap for ages.

This bottle is designed to look like it has fish swimming in it.
There is an extra piece of plastic inside to add more depth to the visual, giving three layers to have images on.

There are a number of different designs; a dolphin, a clown fish, a dory, and a turtle.
I picked the turtle.
It also has angelfish swimming around it.

The soap itself is clear, lathers well, cleans well, and has a mild floral/fruity scent.

Once the soap is finished, I will be refilling this bottle over and over again.

It brings me joy everytime I see it.

Price: 5/5 ($2.99 for 300mL)
Scent: 4/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

Art Break! - 'Die Mad About It' Embroidery

This is a fun little piece I made for Miss Buttons :D

For this I sketched it up in my art ideas book.

To start I drew up some guide lines for the lettering.

These were too narrow.

Better!
I made this template for what I want the text to look like (on PowerPoint, because I'm a computer wizard).

I started doing the letters really carefully, but I soon found I was avoiding doing it all together because I wanted it to be perfect.

No, let's start again. This time keeping it fun.

I put it in a bigger hoop (when my hoops finally arrived) and started the surrounding decorations.

My new 2B pencil to sketch things out.

I washed the pencil marks off and cut away excess fabric.

How I sew up the back.

I also used this teal felt to back it.

My little sewn signature.

Done!

Verdict: She loved it!

Nutra Rise - Prenatal Multivitamin

I didn't use these as a prenatal, but as a daily supplement to aid hair and nail growth.
(Prenatal supplements are great for that.)

These have vitamins A, C, D3, E, B12, B1, and B6. They also have niacin, folic acid, calcium, iron, and zinc.

They are medium sized beige tablets

I was very disappointed with them because a lot of the tablets were broken.
Like sand through the hour glass, so is the state of these tablets.

If you were using this as a prenatal, it would be maddening, wondering if you took to little or too much.
As such, I can't recommend this brand.

It did help my hair and nails, but not as well as the Thompson's hair, skin, and nails did.

Price: 3/5 ($23.06 for 60 tablets)
Scent: 2.5/5 (very faint, mineral and acidic vitamin smell)
Effectiveness: 1/5

Art Break! - Crustacean Menstruation Station

This is a organizer for the bathroom with all your menstruation needs.
No-one will have to ask for supplies when your at my house!

I started with a cardboard box.

Which I cut into a curved shape, and cut out some legs and claws.

And one Phil.

I painted the appendages and main box red.

Cat hair by Lil.

The bottom part of the box I painted yellow then glued some sand on (because I had sand).

I added a raised section for tampons.

I drew on eyes with a permanent marker and a paint marker.

I glued on the appendages.

And glued in the separating piece.

Stocked up and done!

Verdict: I love it and PB loves it!

Altapharma - Sano Viramin E 600

Vitamin E is an antioxidant.

These capsules are small, so very easy to take.
I like that they are little clear capsules, that's just something I visually enjoy.

Book Review - It Starts With The Egg - Rebecca Fett

Most people who are TTCing (trying to concieve) naturally know about how to get pregnant you need to
1. ovulate (if you are the ovary having party)
2. have sperm (if you are the testicle having party)
3. have the sperm and egg meet
4. have the resulting zygote implant in the uterus

But lets step back a bit.
What about making the sperm and egg?
It is a common idea that women are born with all the eggs they will ever have, but that almost implies that they cannot change in quality.

This book suggests (with references to scientific papers) that both egg and sperm quality (and some quantity for the sperm) can be affected by our diets and exposure to various compounds.

*The book says 'toxins' and I hate that word! It's what quacks use to sell people detox products that no-one needs.

"I got this."

It has some very good points and simple changes you can make in everyday life to improve your chances of having a healthy baby carry to term.

The things you do for love...

Is it a guarantee? Nope.
But if you are spending a lot of money and emotional strength on TTC/IVF/IUI, it is worth considering.
This may be the edge you need.

Did this need to be stretched out to a book? No, it probably didn't.
It could have been condensed down into a thinner (not 303 page book).
