Alterra Naturkosmetik (Natural Cosmetic) - Anti-Fett (Anti-Fat) Shampoo

This shampoo isn't body shaming, it means it will get rid of grease. It's for hair that gets greasy quickly.

It has activated charcoal, organic lemongrass and organic chamomile.

It is a 'natural' shampoo, vegan, and with no silicon.

It is black when it comes out of the bottle, which is cool.

The scent reminds me of fruit tingles, a fizzy hard lolly.

It lathers well, cleans well, and leaves my hair really nice.
It takes longer for my hair to become greasy again when I use this compared to other shampoo.

Price: 4/5 ($3.11 for 200mL)
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

Alviana Naturkosmetik - Handcreme Soft - mit Bio-Aloe Vera (with Organic Aloe Vera)

This is a vegan hand cream with no silicon, perfumes, colourants, synthetic preservatives, or mineral oil.

The scent is a mild mix between wheat flour, aloe vera, and an almost lavender scent.

The cream absorbs well but does leave a light, greasy residue (which I personally like).

Rausch - Hair Spray - Strong

This is a sample from Glossybox (thanks Miss Buttons and PB)!

When I got this I wasn't that happy about it because I really don't do my hair.
But I'll do my best to review it.

It apparently has sea buckthorn, which appeals to me as a lover of all things ocean.
It also has no silicon, if that is important to you.

The scent is you classic hairspray scent (try not to inhale it).

I put some on my hair for work to see if it could keep hair out of my face.

Before:

With hair everywhere already, but held in place by hairspray!

After a few hours of work:

All held in place!

Overall, it appears to work quite well!

Price: 3/5 ($13.45 for 250mL)
Scent: 2.5/5 (hairspray smell, don't sniff)
Effectiveness: 5/5

Lavera - Heimat Momente - Apfel Shampoo

This is a organic, vegan, silicon-free shampoo.

The scent is like a blend of fake and real apple, and is very subtle.

You need to use quite a bit to get a good lather, but it cleans well.
This isn't one of my favourites, but it works in a pinch.

Price: 3.5/5 ($6.00 for 200mL)
Scent: 3/5
Effectiveness: 4/5

Herbal Essences - Classic Herbal Essences - Replenishing Shampoo

When I was younger, I formed this association between the rose scented Herbal Essence shampoo and beauty. I guess I must have been exposed to a very effective marketing campaign, although not that successful because I also associate the shampoo with Andie MacDowell and she never featured in their ads (as far as my search can find).

Although the connection may just be because she is also beautiful.

Roses were something in the city could grow, apparently 'the possums would just eat them' where I live.
They were beautiful, pink, and smelled nothing like the baby shampoo I grew up with.

Now that I have some money, I can indulge in this shampoo and it is everything I wanted.

It smells amazing, has no added silicon, lathers and cleans the hair really well.

The only negative is it can pull colour out of dyed hair. Both S and I used this in Germany and our purple/red locks stained some pillow covers.

I got around this by putting it in a 'foaming soap' bottle (it uses watered down shampoo).

It pre-foams the soap and also makes it easier on my scalp (which like the rest of my skin, reacts badly to too much soap exposure).

Price: 3.5/5 (RRP $9.49 for 490mL)
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 4.5/5
