Teatox - Fresh Focus - Organic Green Tea with Ginseng

I got this for my birthday! (Thanks PB's parents!)

This is a green tea with orange peel, ginger root, applemint, rosemary, eucalyptus, guranĂ¡, and ginseng.

It is a medium, warm, yellow-brown colour when brewed.

The smell is a little spicy. It tastes like green tea, faintly of eucalyptus, and a little bitter.
But it is very nice!

Because of the guranĂ¡, best to keep this as a morning tea.

Price: 1/5 ($15.80 for 70g)
Rating: 5/5

Art Break - Fascinator for B

B really wants a fascinator, so I offered to make her one.

Her favourite colour is purple, so that will be our starting point.
Instead of the basic 'feathers and flowers' form, I wanted to take it a step further and make it a 'Nature' themed facinator!

I got fake flowers, a headband, a foam bird, and feathers from the shops today.

And I ordered some fake berries online.

Our bird isn't purple to begin with, but we can change that with some gently applied acrylic paint.

At the start.

Add some lilac paint.

And some violet!

To make some ribbon shapes, I was trying to set it with watered down glue.

But I didn't like the results.

So I glued some florist wire to some fresh ribbon.

I also glued a ring of ribbon to the headband, to make a base for our decorations.

With our florist wire attached, I shaped the ribbon and glued it.

I wanted a dramatic heart shape.

I then attached it to the head band.

I started working on a nest made of feathers.

It will make sense soon!

I then attached the bird and nest to the headband. You can start to see it come together now.

I got some styrofoam eggs.

Painted them light purple.

Then added some dark purple spots.

I then glued them into the nest.

I added flowers and berries around the nest.

I'm really happy with how it turned out!

Art break - Birthday Gift for Parental Unit 2

I already had this stainless steel One Ring and out of everyone who might like it, Parental Unit 2 would appreciate it the most.

So let's make it cooler.

In the first film, Frodo initially has the ring in an envelope.

If you haven't seen these films, go watch them now. I'll wait.

So lets make a cool envelope!

Using some tea and coffee, I stained a white envelope to make it look aged.

Can you tell I didn't take a before photo?

Once it was safely put inside, I added a red wax seal.

The closest thing I had to red wax was purple...

So I just painted it after it dried.

Verdict: Before he opened the envelope, he thought it was a horcrux :/ but he liked it! (especially when I pretended I couldn't see him when he put the ring on)

Keep it secret. Keep it safe.

Art break - Birthday Gift for S

S appreciates money for her birthday, so I went with another creative spin. S also loves dragons.

Dragon + gold (money) = Smaug!

I started with a black box in which I put tissue paper to build up the mountains of gold. Modelling paste was then used to make it solid, provide a paint-able surface, and fill in any gaps.

The backdrop was the next to be painted with gold, grey, bronze and gold glitter.

Then it was time to paint the mountains of gold! I used rose gold paint, gold paint, gold glitter paint, and bronze glitter paint. I then topped it of with tiny gold stars for extra sparkle.

I also drew some cobblestones on the base to extend out the theme and make a nice area for the money to go.

We needed an Atkenstone, so I went to Lovisa and picked up a Swarovski necklace.

Unfortunately it blends in really well and is a bit hard to see, but I'm not changing it now! It is a really pretty necklace! I hid the chain in the paper by way of poking a hole in it and using blu-tack to hold it in place.

Where did it go?!

Then I popped in Smaug (a dragon figurine I've been waiting to give to S).

Finally, the money!

For the outside, I spruced up the outside with instructions on how to get into the mountain castle (in Moon Runes of course) and the key.

Verdict: She loved it! :D

Birthday Gift! - For L

*Warning: This post has a curse word in it.

L is relatively new to make up, so Sam and I decided to get her a few basics.
These items can be used together, only some, or just one.
You don't need a full face of make up for these to make sense.

These are neutrals (although I will specify the concealer and lip colour are specific for L's skin tones).

I thought a good name would be 'The Basic Bitchez box'!

It contains a concealer, blush, lip crayon, eye shadow, mascara, and brushes.
And packaged in a recycled Bellabox box. (Yay, recycling!)

Feel free to use this idea, and if you do, let me know what you put in yours! :D
