Ropalia - Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask

This is a mask that foams up on your face.

It feels a little oily/greasy when applying/on but washes off ok.

So you wash your face, put on a thin layer, wait 5 minutes and then you look like this:

KInd of like a mouldy piece of bread.

It claims it is a 'clay' mask, but I don't feel it acts like a clay mask at all.
It isn't drying or rough on the skin.

On the flip-side, I don't feel it cleans you skin any more than just soap would.
So if you want a deep clean, maybe skip this.
If you want a fun bubble face mask, that is all this is.

Price: 5/5 ($8.94 for 100g)
Scent: 4/5 (kind of a floral scent)
Effectiveness: 2/5

Art Break! - 'Die Mad About It' Embroidery

This is a fun little piece I made for Miss Buttons :D

For this I sketched it up in my art ideas book.

To start I drew up some guide lines for the lettering.

These were too narrow.

Better!
I made this template for what I want the text to look like (on PowerPoint, because I'm a computer wizard).

I started doing the letters really carefully, but I soon found I was avoiding doing it all together because I wanted it to be perfect.

No, let's start again. This time keeping it fun.

I put it in a bigger hoop (when my hoops finally arrived) and started the surrounding decorations.

My new 2B pencil to sketch things out.

I washed the pencil marks off and cut away excess fabric.

How I sew up the back.

I also used this teal felt to back it.

My little sewn signature.

Done!

Verdict: She loved it!

BYS - Glow In The Dark - Top Coat

This is a true glow-in-the-dark tops coat, not just a stupid polish that glows under a UV lamp.

Two coats, charged up under a lamp.

It is a pretty good top coat, but does mute the colour beneath it a little bit.

Price: 4/5 ($4.95 for 14 mL)
New Name: Bump In The Night
Effectiveness: 4/5

Rimmel - Wonder'full - Wake Me Up - Mascara

This is a fun idea, in which the mascara has cucumber volatiles in it (to freshen the eyes).

Do I think said volatiles will make you more awake? Not on a chemical level, but as an unusual stimuli, yeah.

Super sexy end of day makeup!
These are my natural eyelashes with mascara on them.

The brush is great, nice and long.
The formula is smooth and doesn't clump or flake off.

This is a fun twist on a makeup standard, try it!

Price: 2.5/5 ($18.95 for 11mL)
Scent: 4/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

Same Product, Different Scent - Masquerade! - Montagne Jeunesse - Passion Peel Off Mask

Don't let the packaging fool you, it is not opaque! It is clear red and makes you look sunburnt when it is on (don't worry, it doesn't stain).
The smell is pleasant and vaguely fruity. I cannot claim it is effective in any capacity, but it is terribly fun peeling it off!
I feel so bad for those with significant facial hair who will not be able to fully appreciate how much fun these types of masks are.

Masquerade! - Montagne Jeunesse - Lemon Zest Peel Off - Detox & Pore Cleansing Masque
the bottom one
This is a bit different to the masks I usually review, in that it isn't a sheet mask, but a goo that dries on your face, then you peel it off.
This one has a lovely lemon scent with lemon, aloe vera, green tea, ginseng, evening primrose, ginger, seaweed and Dead Sea salt.
My only issue with this is I wish the goo was opaque (but that is hardly a big deal).
These are so much fun, like peeling dried glue off your hand! <3

Same Product, Different Colour - Schwarzkopf - Live Colour - Ultra Brights, Shocking Pink

After having red hair for a while, I decided to switch it up and do something I have always wanted to do... I dyed my hair pink!

This product acted just the same as the 'Red Embers' version, and I just love my new hair colour!
I didn't bleach it prior, so I got a lovely dark pink shade :)

Do we love it, or do we love it? :D

This shade also smelled like raspberry which is pretty cool.

... my parental units don't know yet...

Schwarzkopf - Live Colour - Red Embers

So, as I may or may not have mentioned, I dyed my hair red.
I did this with a permanent colour and while the result was nice, I wanted to make the colour more vibrant.
Enter the '8 washes' Schwarzkopf live colour!
This is a semi-permanent colour treatment that will wash out bit-by-bit (and the shower water will look like it is from 'Psycho')

The colour it added was quite true to what was shown on the box and it made my hair smell like hair dye (love that chemical-lly smell, by the way)

And because I am a great blogger, I didn't take any photos o.O

Price: 5/5 (rrp $4.89 for one box)
Scent: 1/5 (oh so traditional hair dye smell)
Effectiveness: 5/5

Cussons - Imperial Leather - No. 42 Rockpool Hand Wash

This blue beauty caught my attention with imagery of mermaids, beautiful corals and ocean foam (all things I just projected onto the product).

So with such poetic thoughts in mind, how could I not try it?

The scent is listed on this bottle is Indian lotus and waterlily. To me, I smell is a clean, white floral (makes sense with the lily) with a hint of marine scent.
I would have preferred more salt and oceanic for a "Rock pool" name, but you can't win 'em all!

I really liked the blue colour and the lather was superb, needless to say it cleaned the hands well.

Will I buy this scent as a body wash (which I can do), probably not (I want more ocean and less white floral, damn it!), but it's a fun little kitchen/bathroom addition.

Price: 4/5 (rrp $3.99 for 250mL)
Scent: 4/5
Efficiency: 5/5

This eye mask set was so much fun! Although it makes me think I should watch 'Black Swan'...

Nail Design - Katy Perry's T.G.I.F.

The minute I received a bottle of essie "fashion playground" in my Bellabox (beauty subscription service), I knew what I had to do... Pink and mint green nails!

I have decided to name this look after Katy Perry, as her music videos often feature bright colours and fun environments.

If you haven't heard this song, I highly recommend it... It is a lot of fun :)

Nail Polishes used:
- Essie "Fashion Playground"
- Models Prefer "Out of Office"
- Mode Nail Colour "Nail-holic" (this is the multicolour glitter with silver, orange, pink, blue and green)

Base coat was Sally Hansen 18K Gold Hardening nail polish... you don't need to use this specifically, it's just my current favourite base coat
