I particularly love this over a light blue, to look like robin's egg shells!

It is a clear polish with white and black specks, hexagons (of various sizes), and lines.

One coat.

Price: 3/5 ($6.95 for 11.8mL)
New Name: In Print
Effectiveness: 5/5

Rimmel - Magnif'eyes - Glameyes Mono Eyeshadow - Q-Jump

I didn't get this to use as an eye shadow, I got it to use as a highlight.

Swatch!

There are very few highlights available in stores that will actually be light enough for me.
So white eye shadow is a better bet.

Check out that highlight!

This is a shimmery white shadow with really poor colour payoff.

I applied it with a kabuki brush (which is a big brush) and it worked great!

But never EVER use this as an eye shadow, it will be more disappointing than you can ever imagine.

Price: 4/5 ($10.95 for 3.5g)
New Name: Money Shot
Effectiveness: 0/5 (as an eyeshadow), 2/5 (as a highlight)

Same Product, Different Colour - Bianca J Professional - Eye Liner - BIEJ39

This is a white eyeliner, that I used on my lower lash line (not waterline though).

It is a little hard, but not impossible (although you couldn't use it on the waterline).

Revlon - Transforming Effects - Nail Enamel Top Coat - Matte Pearl Glaze 785

This top coat mutes the colour beneath, makes the overall look matte and adds a purple duochrome shift.

One coat, photos don't do it justice!

It adds quite a nice iridescence.

Price: 2.5/5 ($13.95 for 14.7mL)
New Name: Pearl Necklace (hur hur hur)
Effectiveness: 5/5

The Body Shop - Nail Polish - Nail Sequins - Silver

This was part of the 2016 holiday collection.

It is a clear polish with black and silver medium sized hexagons, and white specks.

One coat.

I personally wish there wasn't any black hexagons, to make it lighter toned.

Price: 2/5 ($9.95 for 6.8mL)
New Name: Art Deco
Effectiveness: 4/5

Ulta3 - Nail Colour - Lily White

This is a true white nail polish which tries to be opaque by being thicker... which makes it streaky :(

Two coats.

Price: 5/5 ($2 for 13mL)
New Name: Correction Tape
Effectiveness: 3/5

Daruma

SU2 recently went to Japan and brought these back for me.
Initially I was confused, but once they were explained to me, I realised they were really sweet!

Daruma, or goal dolls, are Japanese wishing dolls.

What you do is think of a goal that you are determined to achieve.
The red doll is for luck and good fortune.
The white doll is for love and harmony.

There are also yellow (security and protection), blue (health and longevity), and gold (wealth and prosperity).

You then give the doll one eye (pupil).

Place the doll somewhere visible, so while he focuses on your goal, you are also reminded to focus as well.

Once the goal is achieved, you give the doll its second eye (pupil) and write your goal on the back in the heart.

I will have to think of goals very significant to me for these lovely dolls!

Thank you SU2!

Eye of Horus - Goddess Pencil - Selenite White

I purchased this to be a waterline pencil, but it is too hard :(
It would damage my eyelid to use it like this.

So I have resigned to using it as a highlighter (yes, I'm that pale that only pure white can actually be a highlight on me).
It does give a good colour payoff, but I just can't use it.
I have heard of softening eyeliner pencils with a lighter, but I'm not putting something that is heated with a lighter near my eye.

I'm certain that the onyx version of this pencil was softer.
I think it is just the formula of this shade.
For the price though, I am disappointed.

Price: 2/5 ($30 for one pencil)
Effectiveness: 1/5

L'Oréal Paris - Colour Riche - Le Khol - Immaculate Snow

I like to use this for my water line (the thin line of skin between the eyeball and lower lash line).
Putting white on your lower line makes your eyes look bigger (an extension of the cornea).

This pencil is soft enough to be gently pressed along the delicate eye skin,  but firm enough that it doesn't break off.

It is a good colour intensity (which is hard for white).

Overall, I can't fault it and is a good white eye pencil.

Price: 3/5 ($18.95 for 200mg)
Scent: 2.5/5 (no scent)
Effectiveness: 5/5

Art break - The Man in the Iron (red) Mask

One of my colleagues held a masquerade themed birthday party earlier this month.
I asked one of my friends at work if he received an invite, the following conversation then took place:

Me - Do you have a mask?
Lakai - No.
Me - Well, I know a few shops nearby that you could get one...
Lakai - I don't think I want to do that.
Me - Or you could make one, it wouldn't be hard. You just need some paint and...
Lakai - *Looking at me*
Me - ... Or I could make you one?
Lakai - Now you understand my thoughts.

So I asked for the colours of the clothes he planned to wear (which started a discussion on dress codes) and set to work.

I had black and crimson/wine, with white accents to work with. I wanted something that looked a bit fancy (it is 'Masquerade' after all) but still understated and manly (I don't feel like being beaten up).

So this is what I came up with:

I used cord under the paint to create some interesting texture, arranging it in an asymmetrical starburst shape.
The white beading stops it from being too dark.
Each bead was placed individually O.o

Verdict from Lakai: He said he meant that he wanted to make it together (why he didn't say that, I don't know... I think he just felt bad and said this), but he liked it! :)
