Spirit bomb

I call upon you, all of you, even if you are reading this much after the publishing date.
Give me your spare energy.
If you have strength to spare, send it to me.
I need your support, just a blessing or a thought.

Send me a bit of strength.

I have a cold and a gamy arm. :(

Current goal, be as happy as Goku:

FUBAR but happy as a cat in your way

Art break - Fairy House

Brace yourself, this is a big one!

I had the idea a little while a go (while doped up on Endone for the nerve pain) that I should make a little house for the fairies to live it.
It should be waterproof, have a solar light, windows with 'glass', and a functional door.

Then as I was browsing an art shop (then on codeine)  I spied this:

It was a sign!

So I quickly decided on a colour scheme. Cream (antique white) for the outer walls and inner roof, wisteria for the inner walls, and violet for the outer roof/ window sills/ accessories.

The first step was to paint it, which required up to 3 coats on some pieces and could only be done one side at a time (for obvious reasons).

Recycling the magazines!
I asked Parental unit 2 to pick up a solar garden light for me and this is the dissected component.

To fit a solar light to the roof, I needed a hole. I cut this out using a scalpel because I'm a derp who has never done woodwork before.

It worked well but broke the tip of my blade (good thing I have more).

For the windows, I cut some plastic into squares.

Easy to see!
And added curtains!

To brighten the light a bit, I painted the surrounding plastic with white paint then gold glitter.
Almost looks happy :)

All of the wood was sprayed with clear varnish on both sides, to  protect it a bit more.

All the components were hot glued together, the glue sealing up any cracks. I also added a mirror on the back wall (inside obviously).

Light off.
Light on!!!

The roof was also given a plastic cover to protect it from rain.

Plastic yet to be trimmed.

With the door I got one from online and had to cut it down a bit to fit the house.

It didn't have any handles so I added some using these 'cover buttons'. I don't know what they are really for, but I also used some to make a few mushrooms!

Then I painted the door dark purple.

And then varnished it.

To attach it, I had these wee little hinges. I first glued them in place then hammered in some tiny nails. To hold the nails for hammering, I used blu-tac.

To protect the inside of the house, I ended up blu-tac-ing the door closed so it wouldn't get bugs in it. I put a clear plastic veranda over the door to protect it even more.

Mmmm, blurry!

To keep it off the ground and keep it dry, I popped it onto these tubes with sand (weight) in them.

Finally we pop a chair inside for any visiting fairies and a kitteh outside.

Verdict: Kinda goofed by putting the solar panel on the least sunny side possible.
But, my parents love it! And I do too! <3

Same Product, Different Scent - Masquerade! - Montagne Jeunesse - Passion Peel Off Mask

Don't let the packaging fool you, it is not opaque! It is clear red and makes you look sunburnt when it is on (don't worry, it doesn't stain).
The smell is pleasant and vaguely fruity. I cannot claim it is effective in any capacity, but it is terribly fun peeling it off!
I feel so bad for those with significant facial hair who will not be able to fully appreciate how much fun these types of masks are.

The Body Shop - Eau de Toilette - Early Harvest Raspberry

I love this scent! I kept this in my purse and spritzed it on whenever I damn well felt like it.
It is fruity, fresh, tart, sweet, and a true raspberry scent (not fake raspberry).
It didn't upset my skin and a little went a long way.

The only negative was that it was a limited edition and isn't available in store anymore :'(

Price: 4/5 (RRP $19.95 for 30mL)
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

And what happened

So, I did my exam (which I didn't ace because let's be honest, I haven't been great).
At least its over! (until I have to repeat the subject)

So, what was this super bad news I was referring to?

Well, as you may or may not know, I have had severe to moderate nerve pain since January-ish.

Electric blue is the damn nerve pain. Red is the subsequent muscle pain. Yellow is Hades' cat hair, he didn't cause the pain, he is just trying to help.

I went to a neurologist that my doctor recommended. This doctor foolishly said "They will be able to solve your problem. It will be run of the mill for them." and I like a damn fool believed him.

Through the neurologist, I found out:

1) I have an inflamed nerve originating from the C7 verterbrae.
2) I have muscular atrophy in my right arm.
3) I have lost the reflex in my right triceps tendon.
4) I had a MRI and it showed no compression/physical abnormality.

That last one sounds great... until you realise that means that surgery is not an option.

The medication doesn't work and my only hope for a real cure was surgery.

Like if Princess Leia's message never reached Obi Wan because he was dead and R2-D2 blew up.

There is nothing they can do for me. I only have pain ahead of me.
They say it usually resolves itself. But that could be months. That can mean years.

I was devastated. I stayed in bed for a week after that appointment and didn't go to work. (My work was really understanding about it.)

Now days I have tried to reset to a new 'normal'. I hate thinking about the future, I have to keep it to a week at a time or I get too sad (although something great is coming up for me in July).
Some days are good, recently it has been playing up again.
I take Valium to ease the pain after my night walking (I can't live in a world without walking), but that can't be used too much without losing effectiveness.
I am currently covered in Deep Heat Arthritis strength.

My current plans for my gamy arm include:

- Acupuncture (first session today, it feels pretty good right now).
- Creating and proposing a pain medication cycle that will reduce the risk of addiction and loss of effectiveness. I don't know if my doctor would be open to that, but he is usually pretty receptive to new ideas.
- Find a muscular masseur (preferably brunette) and marry him.
- Trick people into rubbing my shoulders (dressing like a cat may help with this plan).

This post is long and sad, so lets cheer it up a bit:

This is Seamus and Angus. They are on Instagram and are amazing.

Better!

Also, if you want to help, post a comment of something that makes you happy :)
