The blue is a 'polishing' side (read: useless)

You are meant to rub it in a circular fashion on moist skin (but not taking the sponge into the shower with you).

Invisibobble - Nano - 3 Styling Hair Rings

These are miniature versions of those weird plastic spiral hair ties that  became popular a few years ago.

I tried these to do pigtails (Note: I have very thin hair, 0.03mm diameter).
They seemed a little too big for my hair bundle and I couldn't tighten them, perhaps if they were stretchier?
They also kept slipping out.

Perhaps they work for people with thicker hair?

They seem to be pitched as a styling tool for up-dos and braids.
I'll be straight with you, I don't style my hair. 
Sometimes I comb it, that's it.
There is a reason why I keep it short.

Also these will NEVER replace bobby pins!

Nutra Rise - Prenatal Multivitamin

I didn't use these as a prenatal, but as a daily supplement to aid hair and nail growth.
(Prenatal supplements are great for that.)

These have vitamins A, C, D3, E, B12, B1, and B6. They also have niacin, folic acid, calcium, iron, and zinc.

They are medium sized beige tablets

I was very disappointed with them because a lot of the tablets were broken.

Like sand through the hour glass, so is the state of these tablets.

If you were using this as a prenatal, it would be maddening, wondering if you took to little or too much.
As such, I can't recommend this brand.

It did help my hair and nails, but not as well as the Thompson's hair, skin, and nails did.

OGX - Sunkissed Blonde Lemon Highlights - Citrus Oil Mist

This is a great way to distribute a fine mist of shine-giving oil over your hair!

The packaging on this is just great! No spilling. Fine mist. Cap stays ON!!!

It adds a nice shine to the hair without making you look like you put a roast chicken on your head.

There is mostly a strong coconut scent, followed by citrus.

Gives you a glossy coat!

Does it enhance blonde highlights? Nope.
Don't buy it if you want it for highlights.

Pure Eco - Hair - Conditioning Shampoo

I had a bunch of these from hotel stays and used them on my recent journey.

It lathers well, cleans in one wash, has a soapy scent, and does what a shampoo should do.

If you find this in your hotel room, know that it is dependable.

Hair Cut

All I need is a simple pair of scissors!

Since early last year, I have been cutting my own hair.
Not just trimming my fringe, but cutting layers into my hair.

It always looks like so much!

I thought it would be really hard, but I found it really easy.
I first tried it because I don't like going to the hair dressers (it can cost so much, you have to make an appointment, and the small talk is so awkward) and hair grows back.
Also, if I messed it up I'd just claim I was just expressing myself creatively.

Sometimes it does go a little wrong, like my most recent hair cut looked like a mullet the next day, but it is an easy fix.

Aunt Selma has one hour to live!

Now when I wake up, I look like Bob Dylan (according to PU2).

Art break -  The World's Creepiest Art Project

I unfortunately started this before I was blogging, so I don't have a lot of early photos.
This is an acrylic/ watercolour paint on recycled board.

This was inspired by a documentary I was where someone had preserved a lock of Beethoven's hair, which was then used to show he was exposed to high levels of lead during his life, possibly leading/contributing to his illness.

So I thought, what could I create that would use part of my body? Something with my hair, my DNA. 
I don't care that it is creepy.
That adds to its interest.

I painted a image of myself as a mermaid, on a rock.
The hair is my hair.
Her eyelashes are hairs from my leg (bulb attached).
Her tail is my skin (from my feet - don't worry, I didn't hurt myself harvesting this).
Her scales are my nails.
The seaweed next to her is also some of my leg hair (bulb attached).

The nails took a while to collect up.

And paint them in a uniform colour:

And we start gluing them on slowly, a few each day:

I had some left over nails so I made a flower and a oyster.

I even put a tiny pearl in it!

And the final piece:

*I have something in mind to take the place of the oyster (a human pearl of huge sentimental value, generated by a dear friend) but I have to wait to see if I am ever the lucky owner of this particularly precious piece.
If I acquire it, the oyster will simply be moved to the rock.
