Lacura - Organic Argan Oil For Nourishment Night Cream

Yay cruddy photo!

Another Aldi product!

This is a very heavy cream. I started using it in the summer and that was a bad idea.
It was so heavy on my skin it made me sweat.
So if you want to use this, use it in winter!

It has a clean, kind of clinical, slightly nutty scent.
It really didn't absorb well, it felt almost more like a barrier cream than a moisturiser.

The packaging is nice though, it feels sturdy and has a cool 'double wall' look.

Price: 5/5 ($8-ish for 50mL)
Scent: 1/5
Effectiveness: 1/5

Benefit - the Porefessional

This was a sample from a Bellabox and I was so excited to get it. A darling of beauty bloggers, it is well known and well loved.

It came in (what it thinks is, but really isn't) cute packaging, featuring a light blue Carmen Sandiego sans pants.

And Carmen Sandiego is cooler.

It was quite a moderate beige (really hope they have other shades), smells soapy, and also feels kind of soapy as well.

As far as coverage, it is surprisingly sheer, so don't bother to use this as a concealer.
As a pore filler (yeah, if you don't like your pores, just put stuff in them to create a new flat surface. Nothing will shrink your pores so don't bother buying products claiming they can.) it would need a foundation on top of it, because it is really obvious!

And I'm not about that foundation wearing life.

It is not lightweight, it will not last all day, you will not get velvety soft skin. It cannot stop my oil production (nothing can, so I am the true test of that claim).
I don't see how this is any better than any other primer and don't think it is worth the money.

Price: 0/5 (AUD$53.00 for 22mL on the Benefit website)
Scent: 2/5
Effectiveness: 1/5

Macadamia Natural Oil - Luxurious Oil Treatment

I am usually not a fan of hair oils and conditioners, they can be too heavy for my super fine hair.
This oil treatment was ok, but hasn't really converted me.
I put it in after washing my hair and it did leave my hair a bit shinier, but it was still heavy.

The treatment does smell wonderful though.

Price: 2/5 ($15.96 for 30mL)
Scent: 4.5/5
Effectiveness: 2.5/5

Schwarzkopf - Essence Ultime - Omega Repair Shampoo, Conditioner and BB Beauty Balm

I received this trio as a sample, as you may be able to guess by now, I wouldn't normally buy conditioner or hair BB cream.

So you can probably going to predict that I found these later two items too heavy for my hair (a correct prediction!)
However, unlike the Pantene I reviewed earlier, it didn't leave my hair feeling too bad... I guess less residue?

Also, my hair (although a bit heavy) looked good afterward! *gasp!*

The products have a vanilla and stone fruit smell to me, which is quite pleasant.

So if you have thicker hair (thicker than 0.03mm, I measured it), then give this stuff a chance (if you are so inclined)!

Price: 3/5 (rrp $14.99 per item)
Scent: 4/5
Effectiveness: 3/5

Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner

This came with the shampoo sample. (see earlier post)

I only made the mistake of putting this in my hair once... other people may be able to use it, but this just WEIGHS my hair DOWN!
(It may have something to do with having VERY fine hair)

It left my hair looking like I hadn't washed it in a few days... not the outcome I ever want from washing my hair!

It also smells like fake apple...  but maybe Apples-> gravity-> heavy residue... I smell a crack-pot conspiracy coming on!... and apples... :p

Odour: 1/5 (no fake apple!)
Price: 2/5
Efficiency: 0/5

Quick Fix Facials Exfoliating Scrub Mask - Blackheads and Blocked Pores

This ten minute mask contains pink rose clay, glycolic acid and pomegranate extract and is quite gritty, which makes sense as you massage it in at the start (exfoliation!).

I didn't like how it felt quite heavy, was messy to use, didn't really clean out my pores and sometimes left my face red. Over all, not my cup of tea.

Also, it smelled like dirt and oats.

Price: 4/5 ($8.95 for 10 uses)
Scent: 0/5
Effectiveness: 1/5

Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo

This was a sample I got my hands on. I specify this because Pantene is normally:
- too expensive
- too heavy in residues that stay on the hair
- smells of apple

While it did leave my hair looking nice, but it needed rewashing sooner. Also, I don't believe it's claim that it gives hair '4x the damage prevention'...

That's what bothers me about Pantene, they make claims and I just can't believe them nor do I care that much about the physical properties of my hair.
