Achromin - Whitening Skin Care

I was out with PB one day at a medieval festival and I forgot to put sunscreen on my chest... so I got burnt.

Yes, I got burnt in Germany.

And when I burn, I tan.
I don't really want this weird tan mark on my chest, so I set about treating it.

This cream is quite cheap for what it is, isn't stinky and doesn't hurt when used.

After the recommended two week, twice a day application routine, the tan is still there, but not too intense.

You can still see where my necklace pendant was resting.

I'll keep using it and hopefully reduce the tan further.

Price: 5/5 ($7.71 for 45mL)
Scent: 2.5/5 (not too strong or offensive, a bit like a sharp sunscreen)
Effectiveness: 3.5/5

Tee Gschwendner - Grüner Rooibos Erdbeer-Sahne (Green Rooibos Strawberry Cream)

I wanted just green rooibos for this, but they only had flavored ones.
Since trying it, I'm not mad.

It even has a warm rosy colour.

It has a nice strawberry & cream scent and taste.
It actually tastes like it!

It has green rooibos (not fermented), flavor, strawberry leaves, strawberry pieces, pink berries, and cornflower blossoms.

Price: 3.5/5 ($7.65 for 100g)
Rating: 5/5

Shiseido - The Skincare - Multi-Energizing Cream

This is a sample courtesy of Miss Buttons.

I love the packaging! A sample in a glass jar, with a white iridescent lid.

It has a faint floral scent.

It is almost a waxy balm, but it melts as soon as it hits your skin, making it easy to apply.
I wouldn't call it lightweight, it is a bit heavy but ok for night use.

I do feel that my skin feels good, but it could be because it is acting as a barrier (like Vaseline) rather than a moisturiser or because of its ingredients.

Price: 2/5 ($60 for 50mL)
Scent: 3/5
Effectiveness: 4/5

Shiseido - Bio-Performance - Advanced Super Revitalizer

The packaging is nice, kind of looks like a desk bell.

And I have a sample, which is in a miniature version of the packaging.

It smells soapy, a mix of Olay and soap.

My sample lasted for a week (it was 7mL) and on three of those nights, it had a strong amine smell. Perhaps the formula had separated a bit.
Could it be that it's just a little old?

It was a little waxy on, like a balm.

My skin did look good after using it, but I did notice I was very oily during the day.

Price: 0/5 ($145 for 50mL)

Scent: 1.5/5
Effectiveness: 4/5

Elemis - Pro-Collagen Marine Cream

This is quite nice.

It has a very faint marine smell, doesn't pill, absorbs well, and makes your face feel tighter.

Looking at the price, it is no wonder it works! :/

Price: 0.5/5 ($200 for 50mL)
Scent: 2.5/5
Effectiveness: 4.5/5

Rossburn - Eye Shadow Glitter Stick - Green

This could easily be 10 years old :/
But I wanted to review this because I'm sure most of us have cheap makeup from our teenage years.

Over the Eye of Horus 'selenite' pencil.

Less that two hours later and its creased so badly.
This creases so fast! :(
Even with a base under it.

Also, now my face is covered in glitter (which I am ok with).

This may make a whimsical highlight though!
Price: ** No longer sold, but probably was $2 **
Scent: 2.5/5 (no scent)
Effectiveness: 1/5

Models Prefer - Nude Cream Eye Shadow - Glisten

A bronze coloured cream eye shadow stick that applies easily and doesn't need a base.

It is however in a barrel too big for the stick, so that is a one way ticket to breakage street!

Price: **No longer sold**
Scent: 2.5/5 (no real scent)
Effectiveness: 4/5

Avon - Simply Pretty - Mini Kohl Eye Liner - Gold

This is a mini gold eyeliner cream stick.

Over the Eye of Horus Selenite eye liner.

As a stand a lone eyeliner, it is pretty weak.
If you already have one, fine. If you want to get one, don't bother.

Price: 4/5 (probably was ~$5 for 0.9g)
Scent: 2.5/5 (no real scent)
Effectiveness: 1/5

Garnier - Miracle Wake Up Cream

I liked the night cream from this range, so I thought I'd try the day version.
I regret this decision.

It is tinted (which I guess is ok) which I guess is the 'de-tiring' effect.
It smells like mayonnaise with a tail note of overripe bananas.

It is difficult to get the thickness right. Too thick and it pills during the day, which is not a good look.
But it is quite a thick cream.

I think it wants to make your face matte, but it just makes my skin look dry and haggard.
It really is not moisturising at all.

I will use the rest of it (probably) but only on days where I don't need my skin to breathe and sweat, not on a day over 15C.
So winter grocery shopping.

Price: 4/5 ($19.95 for 50mL)
Scent: 1.5/5
Effectiveness: 1/5

The Face Shop - Chia Seed - No Shine Intense Hydrating Cream

I got this cream from (the nice, not Melbourne Central) Face Shop as a sample.

It is quite a thin cream, with no strong scent (vauge chia).

As far as 'no shine', no simple cream could do that for me, my skin is 90% oil.

But it hydrates well and would be a nice, light day cream.

Price: 2/5 ($40 for 50mL)
Scent: 2.5/5
Effectiveness: 3/5

Masquerade! - Sephora - Algae Sleeping Mask

So this mask is a cream that you put on before bed and is washed off in the morning.
Of course I got the algae one (you know, because in my head I'm a water nymph).
It had a marine, nitrogenous scent.
It also has the colour of aquamarine! <3

I'm not sure if I like this over normal night creams, so I may just use this as a nap mask XD

Zostrix - Capsaicin 0.025% w/w
This was one of the many things I've tried for my nerve pain.
It is a topical capsaicin cream, like pepper spray for your skin. Although to my disappointment, it doesn't burn much.

Don't put it on your food.

In terms of effectiveness for nerve pain, it seemed to work alright. It took the edge off.
I was tempted to try the 0.075% cream, but cost put me off.

It also leaves a residue on your skin which can get on your clothes.

<  I wish i could put a better solution hear, but I can't :'(  >

Price: 2/5 (RRP $19.99 for 45g)
Scent: 2.5/5 (none)
Effectiveness: 3.5/5

Essentials bu Faulding - Vitamin E Cream

Vitamin E is, among other things, is an antioxidant and is associated with tissue repair.
How effective it is in topical treatment I cannot say.
It is however popular and this cream is one example.

The cream itself smells wheat-like and clinical, not a nice thing to walk around smelling of.
The texture is thick, oily, and does not absorb well.

Overall, I don't really like this as it feels like it is trying to be a medicinal treatment and has ignored being pleasant.

Price: 5/5 (RRP $4.45 for 75g)
Scent: 0/5
Effectiveness: 2/5 (as a moisturiser)
