XXX Review - Durex - Naturals - Lubricant

This is a water lubricant with all natural ingredients.
It contains no silicon products.
It contains prebiotics, to support natural flora, and is a moisturising formula.

As a lubricant, it acts like any other water-based lubricant, except a bit less viscous.
In use, it is very pleasant.

Price: 2.5/5 ($16.23 for 100mL)
Scent: 2.5/5 (no real scent)
Effectiveness: 5/5

Trilogy - Rosapene Night Cream

This rich night cream from New Zealand has rosapene (rosehip oil and antioxidants), goji berry, and manuka honey.

It smells a little like wheat, but it isn't too strong.

It applies nicely, absorbs super fast, and feels very moisturising.

The brown, frosted glass jar is also nice and adds to an apothecary feel.

I would happily buy this again.

Price: 3/5 ($46,96 for 60mL, I got it on sale)
Scent: 2.5/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

L'Occitane - Arlésienne Hand Cream

This is a hand cream with the floral scent of the L'Occitane perfume Arlésienne.
So immediately we can say it smells lovely.

The name comes from the play 'L'Arlésienne' which is set in Provence, France.
This location connects to the L'Occitane brand.

The cream itself is rich and moisturising.

While it does absorb to an extent, it does leave a little bit of a residue on the hands, but I like that personally.

It's a shame that I don't think they sell this any more.

Price: 2/5 ($14 for 30mL)
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 4.5/5

The Body Shop - Vitamin E - Night Cream

It smells like a less sweet version of a pink Pascall marshmallow.

It is nice and thick, doesn't upset my skin, and leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturised.
Price: 3.5/5 ($28.00 for 50mL, remember it's AUD and all the prices I list are AUD)
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

Shiseido - White Lucent - Brightening Moisturising Emulsion

I quite liked this, the sample even came in a glass bottle, which was really nice.

The scent it faint and almost soapy, but not unpleasant.
It leaves the skin looking really nice.

If I had the money for this I would buy it again.

Price: 1/5 (~$90 for 74mL)
Scent: 4/5
Effectiveness: 4/5

Avon - Ageless Accolade - Eye Cream

This is a really thick eye cream which really does make a difference (when you leave it on over night).

It doesn't have a strong scent, vaguely floral.

I have used my entire little jar :(

Price: 2/5 ($24.99 for 15g)

Scent:3/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

Revlon - ColorBurst - Lacquer Balm - Vivacious

The colour is amazing!
And this is so moisturising.

Over nude lips.

It also has a soft minty scent, which is so pleasant.
The packaging is an easy wind-up.

It comes of when you eat/drink, but is otherwise long lasting.

But be warned, this is not kiss-proof at all! You will leave kiss marks on people/things.
It also stains the lips (which I personally like).

Price: 5/5 ($4.50)
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

Crabtree & Evelyn - Himalayan Blue - Body Lotion

A nice lotion on the thicker side, it is very moisturising.

To me, the scent is very pear and green notes, quite a fresh scent.

Price: 1/5 ($46 for 500mL)
Scent: 4.5/5
Effectiveness: 4/5

Anne Semonin Paris - Lait Corps Hydratant - Verveine Exotique - Body Lotion

This is a moisturising body lotion that isn't too thin.
It smells like verbena, which is really nice.

However it is a hotel sample, so I can't buy more.

Price: **hotel sample**
Scent: 3.5/5
Effectiveness: 4/5

Soap & Glory - SugarBaby - Deluxe Shimmer Créme

It may be a limited edition item, because I got it in a kit.

This is a body butter with a nice pearlescent shimmer in it.

It smells exactly like Pacsal marshmallows.

It is fairly moisturising and feels nice on.
It is a shame it seems to be unavailable to re-purchase.

Price: 3/5 (~$17, based on similar products)
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

Covergirl - Lip Perfection Lipstick - Spellbound 325

This is one of my all time favourite lipsticks!

I have had it for about 5 years and wear it for special occasions.

If you get a love letter from me and it has a kiss on it, chances are it is this lipstick.

It's soft, moisturising, a beautiful colour, good colour payoff, and just feels great on.

THIS IS MY PERFECT SHADE!
It doesn't stain the lips too much (if you like not being stained).

Price: 3/5 ($16.95 for 3.5g)

Scent: 2.5/5 (no strong scent)
Effectiveness: 5/5

Palmer's - Cocoa Butter Formula - Lip Balm

This is a stick lip balm that works so well.

It is great for bed time.
It is easy to wind up and apply, has a nice faint cocoa butter scent, and creates a moisturising barrier.
It is also SPF 15 to protect your lips from sum damage.

PU1 even has one and likes it (and she doesn't like a lot of things).

Price: 4/5 ($3.69 for 4g)
Scent: 4/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

Burt's Bees - Strawberry - Lip Balm

I'm not normally a huge lip balm fan, but this is a game changer.
This balm is so soft (without being messy) and applies so easily!
It is really moisturising and gives a nice satin finish.

There is a wide range of flavours, I couldn't actually choose (I asked a friend to pick for me).
This isn't a fake strawberry flavour, it is like an unripe strawberry (it is actually really nice).

It is subtle and you wont feel it is overpowering.
J, you picked well!

From now on, if I need a lip balm, THIS is what I'd get :D

Price: 3.5/5 ($6.95)
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

The Body Shop - Lip Balm - Honeymania

I got this out of the Advent calendar from earlier this year.
It isn't something I would normally gravitate towards, but I am glad I have it because I LOVE IT!

It is your basic waxy barrier balm formula but also adds some moisture as well.
The honey flavour/scent is a genuine honey scent and isn't over powering.

This is great to put on before bed so you wake up with lovely, soft lips. <3

Price: 3/5 ($9.95 for 10mL)
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

Burt's Bees - Lipstick - 501 Blush Basin

This product immediately intrigued me when it was released.
I always wanted to try something from Burt's Bees but don't really like lip balms.

The colour intensity is moderate (not full coverage, but close enough), the formula goes on smoothly, lasts at least 4 hours, and is moisturising.
It has a satin finish and faint floral scent.

I'll rename this shade 'Nakie'

It can do that weird thing that beeswax can do when it experiences temperature changes and forms hard beads of wax. The emulsion in it can be broken and I'm not sure how to reverse it without taking the lipstick out of the container.

Swatch and fitbit!

The packaging does feel a little flimsy, but it doesn't break and any ascetic issue can be forgiven since the packaging is recyclable.
Although I must say I LOVE the hexagons on the cap <3 The little beehive motif is adorable.

This isn't the best formula I have used, but is a nice option if you want a more environmentally friendly option.

Price:  2/5 ($19.95 for 3.4g)
Scent: 3/5 (faint floral scent)
Effectiveness: 4/5

The Body Shop - Spa Fit - Toning Massage Oil

Oh, this has the wonderful citrus smell that I love! <3

It isn't cooling like the gel from the same line, so don't worry, this won't freeze you.

It absorbs well and leaves the skin moisturised and nicely scented.
As far as 'toning', I don't think this does that. But it is a nice body oil.

I have a second bottle of this, because I love the scent so much... all I need is someone to massage it into my back ;)

Price: 3/5 (~$14 for 150mL)
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 4.5

Lacura - Luxury Body Butter - Orange Blossom

This smells soooo nice!
Like a buttery, sweet orange scent.

It was also super thick!
It absorbs well, is really moisturising, and non-irritating for sensitive skin.

Price: 5/5 (~$5 for 200mL)
Scent: 4/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

Purple Prairie Botanicals - Organic Olive Oil Lotion - Frankincense & Myrrh

This smells AMAZING! It is herbal and spicy.

It contains olive, sunflower, coconut, frankincense, myrrh, orange, and rosewood oil.
It also has witch hazel, black willow, and rosemary extract.

I really wanted to love this, but my skin on my torso didn't agree with it.
But you better believe it was all used up on my legs!

It absorbed well and left my legs well moisturised.

Price: 3/5 ($15.89 for 237 mL)
Scent: 5/5
Effectiveness: 3/5

Rimmel - Moisture Renew - 380 Dark Night Waterl-oops!

This is a really nice lipstick!

It is moisturising, has good colour intensity, and lasts ~5 hrs with eating.

The negatives are the stupid colour name (I shall rename it 'Midnight Rendezvous') and it has a faint 'makeup' smell.

Meet me by the bridge at midnight ;)

Price: 3.5/5 (RRP $13.95 for 4g)
Scent: 2/5
Effectiveness: 5/5

L'Oreal Paris - Revitalift - Day Cream

Apparently anti-wrinkle and extra firming, my face didn't change much with regular use (but I didn't expect it to either).

Let's go from the outside in.

Solid glass container with some serious weight to it... you could bludgeon someone with it!

NO WITNESSES!

The lid is plastic, but a nice metallic red. The printing on both lid and jar is sleek and simple.

The cream is a good thickness for daywear and smells like sunscreen... which makes sense because it has sunscreen in it.
Funnily enough, I can't find an SPF rating. So I'm going to say it is SPF 1 elephant.

You can't prove otherwise!

It feels moisturising immediately and I quite enjoyed using it.

It contains Pro-Retinol A, vitamin e, and Par-Elastyl (no idea what this last one is).

Close enough.

Price: 2/5 (RRP $32.95 for 50mL)
Scent: 2/5
Effectiveness: 3/5
